The project “Zero Emission Services for a Decarbonised Alpine Economy” (LIFEalps for short) builds on the successful pilot projects of the past and takes the decisive step towards a regional roll-out of electric mobility. LIFEalps is one of the first major European projects to promote zero-emission mobility in a technology-neutral manner: both hydrogen refuelling stations and charging stations for battery-electric vehicles will be installed and put into operation. However, as to avoid the chicken and egg problem, fleets of emission-free vehicles of various categories are also being brought onto the streets at the same time. These infrastructures and emission-free vehicles will then serve as the basis for applications and services that make zero-emission mobility tangible.
The Institute for Innovative Technologies has launched the LIFEalps project and has also submitted the project proposal. Now IIT acts as project manager and supports SASA, the project coordinator, in all aspects of the project’s implementation while acting also as fleet manager.
LIFEalps is financed through the LIFE programme of the European Commission (LIFE17 IPC IT 000005 – Zero Emission LIFE IP).
You can find more information about LIFEalps on the official project homepage.
